National Fire Kills Campaign Relaunches to Keep Communities Safe

The UK Government and National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) have relaunched the Fire Kills campaign to reduce home fire fatalities and injuries.

Why this matters:
✅ Over a third of home fires fail to trigger an alarm in time
✅ Many homes lack enough smoke alarms in the right places

What’s new in the campaign?
🔹 National advertising across TV, radio, and digital platforms
🔹 Monthly toolkits and a 2026 campaign calendar for local fire services
🔹 Free Online Home Fire Safety Check tool for personalized advice

NFCC Chair Mark Hardingham says:
“By providing simple advice to install and test smoke alarms regularly, we can help protect the most vulnerable and their families from the devastating impact of fire in the home.”

👉 Take action today: Test your alarms and make sure you have enough in your home.
